Moving forward, Office 365 customers will get unlimited OneDrive storage at no additional cost. Microsoft is eradicating OneDrive storage limits in the coming months as the company launches changes in every account.
OneDrive for Business customers, unlimited storage will be listed on the Office 365 roadmap in the coming days and we will begin updating the First Release customers in 2015. In the meantime, users can get started using 1 TB of storage today by backing up all those work files kicking around on your PC – with the knowledge that even more storage is on its way.
While unlimited storage is another important milestone for OneDrive the company is looking to give people adequate value of cloud storage; use it to communicate, create, and collaborate, both personally and professionally. With Office 365, Microsoft is giving users single experience across work and life that helps people store, sync, share, and collaborate on all the files that are important to them, all while meeting the security and compliance needs of even the most stringent organizations.
This comes months after Microsoft gifted 1TB of OneDrive space to Office 365 subscribers in a bid to beat Google and DropBox to widen storage gap. With the latest from Microsoft, users will definitely get a value for their money considering unlimited OneDrive storage and a copy of Office that works on Mac or PC, tablets, and smartphones is only $6.99 per month while Google and Dropbox charge $9.99 a month for 1TB of space alone without additional office software. Google's offers Drive for Work to business for $10 per user per month with unlimited storage which in this case is expensive for users. The company is looking to make OneDrive the world's cloud storage leader – and, always a key part of the best productivity service with Office 365.
