Worldwide top 3 consumer notebook and tablet brand, has recorded a year over year growth as it continues to galvanize its lead in the hybrid market position. The continued growth according to the company is due to an increase in the demand of hybrid notebooks.
This is according to Quarter two 2014 Gartner PC shipment results for EMEA region, released recently. The Taiwanese multinational shipped 2.2 million compared to 1.7 million units in the same period last year.
Statistics from the global research firm show Asus ascent from 8.4 percent PC market share in the second quarter of 2013 to 10 percent in the second quarter of this year. This translates to a 1.6 percent increase.
The increased PC market growth realized by Asus is in part as a result of consumers readily going for tablets and hybrid notebooks-in developing markets like Kenya. The results also indicate growing confidence by our consumers in Asus fulfilling their needs when it comes to PC options.
Early last month, the Taiwanese multinational added to its hybrid portfolio with the introduction of the Transformer Book Flip and the Transformer Book T300 at the Computex event in Taiwan-both of which run on the Windows 8 operating system (OS).
According to Gartner, hybrid ultramobiles, such as two-in-one devices, are attracting consumers more and more, adding that end users tend to go for the lower priced gadgets over the high end ones.
Asus is looking at launching the Padfone in second half of this year to leverage on the improved performance. The tech giant looks to fill the gap between mainstream and transitional gadgets with the rollout as well as strengthen its position as a hybrid device pioneer.
The company has revealed that it is hoping to ride on the successful quarter two performance by remaining fastest growing IT brand in the country as well as carry out an awareness campaign within the third quarter of this year.
