Microsoft has entered into partnership with Kenya Orient Insurance Limited to provide our users with an insurance cover for the smart phone range. Users can now protect their devices from accidental damage – screen repair or liquid damage repair. The package ranges from 1.5% for a Kshs 70,000 or 2% for a Kshs 20,000 device. No excess fee will be charged. To register, users are required to send and SMS with their respective IMEI numbers to 70707. Two verification messages will be sent with further registration details.

The insurance deal covers devices that not older than two years from date of purchase, user can only make a maximum of two claims per device per year. When registering, one must have proof of purchase and the insurance value will based on catalogue price as well as applicable depreciation.

Those with old Lumia devices and  have not upgraded to the Lumia Cyan software, It is advisable to do it now. Go to the SETTINGS > UPDATE PHONE
