Nairobi Garage formally 88mph is inviting all entrepreneurs, budding business men and women, operators and innovators to join the startup weekend event running from Friday 5th 6pm until Sunday 7th at 8pm for a chance to get business ideas out of their head and into action.

Now in its 8th edition with events starting in n Colorado, US, and now all over the world, the 54 hour event will see developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startups.

The first evening will see the first knockout round, by popular vote, and the rest of the attendees will be asked to form teams around the front-running ideas. By the end of the weekend, the top 3 business ideas will be chosen by the judging panel, according to strict evaluation criteria.

Not only do the winning ideas get to build a team from the participants of the weekend, they also get a number of prizes that have been selected to ensure the hatchling businesses get off to the best start. The prizes for top 3 are as follows:

Tickets priced at Ksh 1,000 will be available on Ticketsasa. However, the first evening of the event – Friday 5 is open with no cost at all. The event is organized by local and international business mentors who have built their own successful businesses, as well as a facilitator from the US based company UP Global, which is behind the Startup Weekend franchise.
