PC and tablet manufacturer ASUS has announced plans to introduce PC's , handset and gaming products targeted at its local Kenyan market. The product announcements come at a time when the industry has been facing changing demands and expectations from consumers when it comes to the tech products. According to ASUS, consumers will in 2015 judge tech brands based on their innovativeness as opposed to the trends they are aware of.
Tech products in 2015 will be geared towards application of the innovative demands of the consumers as opposed to knowledge of the trends. The Taiwanese multinational plans to introduce products that will meet this demand. Among gadgets to be introduced will be the Zenfone 2 (a Smartphone), Transformer Book T300 Chi (an ultrathin 2-in-1 laptop) and a gaming PC machine by mid of this year. Some of these gadgets were part of the innovations that were introduced by the tech brand at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas three weeks ago.
During this year's CES show that happened recently, the tech brand unveiled a raft of other new innovations for various segments. These included a mini PC for the home, professional and commercial display projectors alongside networking solutions for homes and offices.
ASUS also managed to bag seven innovation awards in the category of best design and engineering at the CES event. The ZenBook NX500 and ZenBook UX305 ultraportable laptops, the Transformer Book T300 Chi 2-in-1 detachable, and the ROG GR8 ultra-compact gaming laptop all won awards in the Computer Hardware and Components category, the curved-screen LX321 and LX341 monitors won in the Computer Peripherals category, and the ROG G20AJ compact gaming desktop won in the Gaming Hardware and Accessories category.
