Low-cost airline Jambojet has introduced "low fare finder" a tool on its website to help customers find the lowest fares on offer. This means convenience for customers since it will give access to wider range of cheaper fares in good time.

The Kenya Airways' owned company which first launched in April this year has attracted great audience in Kenya especially business personnel who need to make fast and frequent travels around the country and soon branching out to regional destinations.

The "low fare finder" functionality will make it possible for travellers to see which days during the month of travel have the best rates. For those who are flexible on their travel dates, this makes an excellent source for finding cheap air fares and saving.

The tool is the easiest and fastest way to find special fares. Customers will choose from many fare options and the offer days at a glance compared to other systems that require travelers to search each day to find this information.

Jambojet pioneered the concept of a budget airline in Kenya four months ago and the service has already attracted good uptake. Jambojet fares include a 10 kilogram hand baggage allowance and the fares shown on the website are the actual fares that travellers pay.

Jambojet marks a major milestone for the Kenyan market and Africa's nascent LCC sector. Besides fastjet Tanzania and (soon) fastjet Zambia, there are no LCCs operating in the intra-African market outside South Africa. In South Africa, the LCC market is mainly domestic with Mango only operating one international route (which is not served by SAA) and Kulula not currently serving any international routes.

Last month, Jambojet was considered best low –cost carrier for the region during the World Airlines Awards and the fourth best in Africa, hot on the heels of such established players as Mango, Fastjet and Kulula
