Just a quick update from me on
Mobile Web Africa 2014, sent with the intention that you'll appreciate the magnitude of the conference and want to take advantage of the R1500 discount available if you register your place by
tomorrow - the end of the early booking period.
And what about the progress of the conference? Well, Mobile Web Africa is shaping up to be a truly African event, tackling the region's crucial issues and bringing the best of the best from our West and East African conferences together for the first time, as well as key contributors from the UK, India and Hong Kong. On top of that, the event, which takes place in Johannesburg on 10th & 11th September, is gathering support from every major body associated with mobile.
It's also worth noting that
Tomi Ahonen, one of the leading thinkers in the mobile industry globally, will be delivering a special futuristic address at the conference. The agenda is virtually complete and will be available online shortly. Just reply to this email if you'd like to receive the PDF version - it's looking exceptionally good.
A summary of other recent developments:
- We're delighted to have teamed up with the Mobile Marketing Association and Standard Bank to host the first South African edition of the annual Smarties Awards on the evening of Wednesday, 10th September.
- MEF is hosting their own session on the future of mobile money with contributions from KPMG, Mirage Telecom and Mahindra Comviva.
- Fancy a free trip to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2015? That's the prize for the winner of our biggest and best App Developer Competition yet, which AppCircus and Mobile Monday South Africa are helping us to deliver.
Over the coming weeks the momentum around MWA2014 is going to build significantly. However, the early booking prices run out
tomorrow (
Friday, 8th August) so save yourself and your organisation R1500 by reserving your discounted place for South Africa's most progressive and interactive mobile-focused event at
