World's top three notebook PC maker Asus has today announced that it will be increasing the warranty period on its notebooks from one year to two years in a bid to strengthen its product service portfolio.

The two year warranty will cater for parts and repairs of Asus notebooks, in which the company will be responsible for replacing the product or defective part of the device based on diagnosis.

The then repaired product will be under warranty for three months or the remainder of the warranty according to what's applicable. At the moment, the two local accredited service centers for this scheme will ensure services and Repair junction.

"As an emerging product in the market, locally, we felt it was crucial that we assure your customers of our continued support even after purchase of product to ensure that they do get the most out of the products and have a great experience." Said Mr. Chris Wen, product manager, Asus Kenya

The warranty that begins on the day of purchase will however not cater for accidental damage, misuse and installations of unrelated Asus Software.

Asus has over the years developed a strong advantage in product design, technology, quality and value cost having the now increased warranty beat the average industry warranty which is currently one year.

With this new scheme, the Taiwanese company hopes that consumers will have greater assurance of a worthwhile investment when it comes to the purchase and subsequent ownership of these devices.
