Samsung Electronics Tanzania awareness has gone up following a short message service check off point system dubbed e-warranty that enables customers to identify genuine Samsung mobile phone through the handset's IMEI number.

Since the introduction of the e-warranty draw, the products have seen the increase with winners of the draw walking away with exciting prizes. "We have registered an increase of 30 per cent in registration of mobile phones bought by our customers," said Account Manager Samsung, Tanzania.

Using the service, customers are able to know whether the phone has a one year warranty or not and whether the device has been reported missing or stolen as well as indication whether the device is new of used.

The mobile manufacturer seems to be currently dominating in the state having been the most preferred.
