Milicom a digital lifestyle service provider announced the launch of tech incubator in Kigali aimed at developing new digital solutions.
The roll out will see a small number of high potential entrepreneurs from the incubator picked in a process to be handled by the company's African Subsidiary, Tigo in which highflyers who make it through the selection will be given access to Tigo technical resources for product testing and trials, structured training and coaching programmes, seed financing and support in how to connect with customers and investors.
"The objective is to develop innovative and scalable businesses in which Milicom will take an equity stake, we are looking forward to driving the digital revolution with talented youth in all our Tigo operations in Africa" stated the company. CEO Millicom, Hans-Holger also acknowledged ease of doing business in the country.
The rapidly growing country that offers a range of digital services to customers in Africa under the Tigo brand intends to use the project to further its presence in Africa.
