Tech giant Asus has recorded a year over year growth as it pursues a lead in the hybrid market position, according to Quarter one 2014 Gatner PC shipment results-for EMEA region released recently.
Research company's findings show Asus rise from 7.8 percent PC market share in the first quarter of 2013 to 9.3 percent. In this first quarter of this year, this translates to a 1.5 increase. The Taiwanese manufacturer shipped 2.1 million units compared to 1.7 million in the same period last year.
Asus has also been attested to being the overall leader in the hybrid market with the transformer T100- the company's flagship hybrid gadget- majorly driving the company's quarter-over-quarter performance.
"The successful growth for Asus in the PC market is partly as a result of the growing up take of the hybrid gadgets like the Asus Transformer book in the emerging markets like Kenya. As a market leader in the hybrid market, Asus continues to advance its commitment in advancing our consumers' gadgets needs." said Mr Chris Wen, the product manager for Asus Kenya.
The device manufacturer has revealed that it is lining up to locally introduce the padfone probably in the second half of this year to add onto the already existing Transformer T100, in a bid to continuously provide its consumers with the best experience possible on its products further strengthening its hybrid market position.
The company expects better performance in future results as it also looks to introduce the Transformer book in Uganda and Tanzania.
