Telecommunication companies in Kenya are currently on the run for a Lion's share of subscribers in the country. Convenience, effectiveness, easy transaction, value for money and re-defined entertainment for customers is the aim of most if not all operators today.

In line with that, Airtel has rolled out Airtel premier Club a product designed to offer exceptional and personalized services for customers. The club presents a variety of unique offers and services from the telecom company as well as other partners in various business sectors.

Premier customers will have personalized credit services such as credit facilities, an exclusive website, free SIM replacement, priority services and discount with preferred partners. Also, customers travelling across Africa in the 17 Airtel operating countries will be allowed to roam on one network with their local Airtel SIM cards giving them access to cheaper rates for call made, as well as value added services and the ability to recharge using local top up vouchers in the country in question.

Customers will also enjoy one network profile that allows them to communicate at local rates, receive calls for free and recharge partner airtime vouchers when they travel to at least 17 countries in Africa. With Airtel One Network, you are treated as a "virtual" local customer when you travel to any country Airtel operates in. You also receive first 100mins of calls for free in all Airtel African countries and India except Burkina Faso and Niger due to regulatory issues.

The product targets high spenders as similar to rival telcom's platinum service 'Safaricom Platinum Club' where subscribers already get specialized treatment when accessing customer care services with Safaricom.

According to Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi, the launch is in a quest for Airtel to demonstrate commitment to provide innovative and relevant products and services to customers the package will deliver a superior brand journey for high value customers by creating memorable brand moments.

During the launch on Friday, in attendance was among high profile personalities Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology, Dr. Fred Matiang'i and Airtel Africa, Chief Executive Officer, Christian de Faria.
