Network operator NetOne has put out word on taking on rival telecommunications company as it targets to increase its subscriber base to three million people by the end of this year.

Currently having subscribers between 2.7 and 2.8 million, the firm based on Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) will put emphasis on its products such as One Wallet which allows customers to access crucial services including bill payment, data purchasing as well as voice service.

NetOne plans on purchasing more SIM cards to avoid shortages and also increase its network capacity to cater for six million subscribers in line with its vision to be home of seamless communications solutions for everyone, anything, anywhere and anytime.

The telco has blamed Falling behind in the industry on inadequate funds to finance expansion projects. Being governmental, procurement processes and wrong choice of companies to tender therefore having faulty infrastructure that constantly has to be replaced.

The company hopes to change its systems in order to accommodate efficiency and effectiveness for its subscribers.
